fashion picture/identity

For this assignment I remember you saying that we could combine our identity photo and our fashion photo. Well I personally think that this picture shows both. Firstly, the reason why i think this photo shows identity is because in California, people know us for the sun and the beach. I think that this picture shows Ashley's "culture/identity" because it's representing that come trait linked to being from here. Nextly, I think that this photo shows fashion because, Ashley's advertising her bathing suit along with her cardigan. I really like this picture not only because of the setting but because of the colors present. Because the sun is going down in the background, it creates a "glow" on the rocks. Also, when you get further down on the picture, the undertone of it changes to a bluish color. If i could go back and fix this photo, I would have added better lighting on Ashleys face, just because it seems kind of dull. But overall taking this picture was a great experience and I'm starting to become really interested in fashion photography!

The Portrait Issue

When reading about portraits, we were introduced to Manjari Sharma. This inside excerpt, shows us where Sharma started out and where she went from there. Shrama, growing up in India, came over to America at the young age of 21 to study at Columbus. For Sharma, taking portraits was just a test and trial for her, but she noticed that her and her models were able to get more into their work as they went along. It became easy for her and her models to share the most intimate of conversations, while also enjoying a cup of tea. Personally, I like the work that Sharma does in the shower, because I think that it really captures a person naturally. A person just doesn't just merely see a person nude, but they see inside the person instead.
