face softening

Before starting this face softening project, I didn't think that it would really make a difference. But when eventually starting the assignment, i found that it was really cool and that it actually worked. This assignment was really fun, and it was an interesting technique to learn on photo shop. I really like knowing how to do this, because now i feel like it will really add to the quality of my images. Photo shop is just a great skill to have these days, because it really comes in handy.

Photoshop Essentials.

In our photoshop composition project, at first i definitely was a little confused as to what to do. At first i wasn't sure exactly how to work photoshop, which is mainly because I'm not very computer savvy. But after playing around with my photo, and getting more used to it, i became more comfortable. As far as composition wise, i feel that I'm in the middle. Everything in my picture is basically centered, and proportionate, but i feel like it's too mush of a balance. From this assignment I'd like to learn more of how to make things maybe not so balanced, while still having them look good. Over all, i really liked this project, and learning composition.

Sequencing project

When making the booklet for sequencing, i found it to be a little difficult. what was hard about it was i accidently, folded the paper inside the booklet wrong multiple times. I also, cut the cardboard wrong multiple times. Before even starting the shooting for sequencing, i found it hard to fin a theme. I think that's what took me so long to shoot it. By taking so long to do this, is taught me to be prepared, and that sometime I should just dive in to my work. By doing this i would have had more time, and my work would have came out better. My sequencing story is about two street fighters. In the first scene they notice each other and then point. Then they walk up to each other, and Troy punches Ashley in her face which results her to fall down to the ground. But when Troy isn't paying attention, Ashley gets up, and punches troy in his face, getting her rightly deserved pay back. The end of my story leaves off with troy on the ground and with Ashley doing a victory dance. I think that shooting sequencing was very fun, and it showed me that Photography could also be incorporated with art. What i didn't like about my images is that most of them came out way too dark, and some of them had this strange spotting one them. But that resulted from me not having enough time and procrastinating. Overall, i really like this assignment, and i would recommend it to anyone.

studio lighting

With our fourth assignment being studio lighting, i found that i was able to capture a deeper insight into my models persona. In this photograph, you can see my model Casey, staring blankly at an object. The expression on her face, and the way her body is posed, shows that there is something going within the walls of this girl. She presents a look of being hurt and lost, like a scared child. This photo reminds me of how people feel when they do not know what to do. I think that this picture is aesthetically pleasing because, my models persona is dark, and so is the background around her. i would call this work figurative because it shows you an insight of how someone feels. I don't think that there are really any shapes within this photo, and for the most part I see it as being flat. I really like the color of my model glowing in this picture instead of there just being a complete darkness. In this photo I am trying to show people that it is only human to feel this way, and everyone has those days. In my opinion. I really like this photo because of the deeper meaning it has behind it. I think that it worked out really well, but it was a little hard to process it, because the background was already a little dark.
