first project image 1

Because I took this image outdoors, I can visually see the texture of the grass. I can also see softness on some parts of the image that are too bright. The image that I took is close up on my model. I would call this work figurative because you can get certain feelings that my model puts off. These may consist of exhaustion, dreaming, or thinking. The shapes in this picture are hard and soft. This is caused by the light being too bright and also by the texture of the grass. The image i took is in some parts to light and some parts too dark. but that was caused by the brightness of the sun and me not burning my image enough on my models arms. The tone of my image is a little dull because in some ways my model seems like shes falling in to the grass, but then when you take a closer look shes on top of it. The image is on focus and is mainly focusing on the body of my model. I would say that the models face is a little less in focus than the rest of her. I'm trying to convey serenity, and the image has a certain placidity which makes it peaceful and calm. In my opinion I would say that this picture turned out fairly good. Though the photo has some dull and light points, the over all image works out and is able to convey my message.

first project

With our first project being depth of perception, I was able to capture my model (Joanne) focused clearly in the picture. In this photograph you can see a girl reaching up as if picking an item off the of tree. The expression on her face is anxious which helps illustrate her actions as wanting something. By seeing her shadow reaching up, it helps show us that she's almost made it but she's not exactly there yet. None of the objects in this picture are exactly close up, but the closet object would be my model and her shadow. I think this work is figurative instead of abstract because it represents someone reaching for something. The shapes in this picture are interesting to me because they use shadows which reflect everything that cannot be seen. I'd say that this image is in and out of focus because my model and the shadow are somewhat clearer than the rest of the background in this picture. this image came out lighter in some parts than I would have liked, but part of it in the corner was caused by me not dodging the image enough. This image was taken outdoors towards the sun which caused it to be brighter. In my opinion, this image was successful, because it was my first project and it worked out nicely.
