Third Project: Motion

With our third assignment being motion i was able to capture my model outdoors showing movement. in this photograph you can see a girl running in business attire, like a child or a bird. The expression on her face is remind me of a child on Christmas morning. Which helps create the illusion of my model being free. This photo kind of reminds me of what people do behind closed doors. In this image i can see the texture of the trees in the background and there is a really great color in the background of the picture. I would call this work figurative because it shows you that everyone has an inner kid inside. This is seen due to my models childish behavior. I think the shapes in this picture really stand out. Because first of all, the shape of my model really stands out and it helps create texture in the photo. Also, by my models body line creating a shadow on the pavement it really helps separate the picture. I really like the color in this image because my model is like in a shadow, but the background goes from dark to light. I really like the tone of my image because it's not just all dull, but it gives you some excitement which helps you enjoy the picture better. When i took this image I focused on my model so you would not only see her moving but you would see the background blurred which caused the element of motion. In this photo I am trying to convey the enjoyment of life which really works because in this image my model just let loose and actually enjoyed this moment. In my opinion i really like this picture because it's just really fun and playful and it shows people there inner child waiting to break out. Though i didn't realize i was creating these lines when i took the picture, the overall photo really worked and I hope to be able to capture lines like these again.

Project 2 depth of field

In this image, taken outdoors i attempted to capture my model showing depth of field. In this image there isn't really any texture, but i can see the softness of the image in the grass. i would call this work figurative because in the background you can see my model eating a person. the feeling that I get from this image is comedic, because the image itself is just funny to see. By creating this image with a comedic tone, I hope that i will be able to brighten up people's days. This picture doesn't really have any shapes to it, most of the image is just flat. This is caused by the image being too bright and by me not capturing and texture when I took the picture. The tone of my image is a little dull because at a first glance you can't really see what my model is doing, but when you take a closer look you can see a person in the background. In this image I focused on the girl in the background, which caused my model to be blurry. If I could retake this image then, I'd focus on my model and have the girl in the background be blurry. In this image, there really isn't a main emotion that I am trying to convey except to brighten up someone's day. In my opinion I would say that this image turned out fairley good, but if could change anything i would want to capture more texture and depth.

first project image 1

Because I took this image outdoors, I can visually see the texture of the grass. I can also see softness on some parts of the image that are too bright. The image that I took is close up on my model. I would call this work figurative because you can get certain feelings that my model puts off. These may consist of exhaustion, dreaming, or thinking. The shapes in this picture are hard and soft. This is caused by the light being too bright and also by the texture of the grass. The image i took is in some parts to light and some parts too dark. but that was caused by the brightness of the sun and me not burning my image enough on my models arms. The tone of my image is a little dull because in some ways my model seems like shes falling in to the grass, but then when you take a closer look shes on top of it. The image is on focus and is mainly focusing on the body of my model. I would say that the models face is a little less in focus than the rest of her. I'm trying to convey serenity, and the image has a certain placidity which makes it peaceful and calm. In my opinion I would say that this picture turned out fairly good. Though the photo has some dull and light points, the over all image works out and is able to convey my message.

first project

With our first project being depth of perception, I was able to capture my model (Joanne) focused clearly in the picture. In this photograph you can see a girl reaching up as if picking an item off the of tree. The expression on her face is anxious which helps illustrate her actions as wanting something. By seeing her shadow reaching up, it helps show us that she's almost made it but she's not exactly there yet. None of the objects in this picture are exactly close up, but the closet object would be my model and her shadow. I think this work is figurative instead of abstract because it represents someone reaching for something. The shapes in this picture are interesting to me because they use shadows which reflect everything that cannot be seen. I'd say that this image is in and out of focus because my model and the shadow are somewhat clearer than the rest of the background in this picture. this image came out lighter in some parts than I would have liked, but part of it in the corner was caused by me not dodging the image enough. This image was taken outdoors towards the sun which caused it to be brighter. In my opinion, this image was successful, because it was my first project and it worked out nicely.
